Chewton Glen Restaurant Dress Code

DH and I are off there in a few weeks. I've noticed on their website that they request that 'during the evenings guests wear a jacket at dinner'.

Has anyone been there and noticed whether this rule is applied strictly? I don't have an 'evening jacket' and DH is 40 not 60 so also not likely to wear a jacket for a non-work dinner.

The jacket dress code only applies to men and definitely no jeans. I think smart casual is more the norm these days.

I'm due to go there shortly for a lunch which is a bit more relaxed though I still wouldn't wear jeans.

I did assume that it was men only but you never know - DH is going to be very unimpresed!

Does he have a blazer? DH often wears that for these types of things.

dh has a semi-casual cotton blazer (Gap) that often gets wheeled out for these things

any blazer would be fine

doesn;t need to have a tie or be a suit jacket
