Where to stay for 3 nights in Perth, Australia?

We are currently planning our trip of a lifetime to WA in November. We've got pretty much all of it sorted as are mostly staying with friends plus some time self-catering in Margaret River.

In the last bit of our trip we fly back to Perth (from Broome) and then have 3 nights there before flying back to the UK and this is where we're stuck.

I just can't seem to find somewhere for us to stay in Perth that isn't either hideously expensive or has horrific write-ups on Tripadvisor.

I do want to spend a bit of time in Perth and have heard it's a beautiful city but just not sure where to stay.

Have you got any recommendations? There will be me, DH, our 20 month old twins and my parents who are joining us for the last leg of our trip.

We were therefore thinking an apartment might be a good idea but some of them seem very expensive.

We know Perth quite well, short term apartment rentals are very expensive. Try the Burswood hotels, they range from pricey (very!) to not too bad. The Holiday Inn at Burswood is about 220 AUD per night I think, don't know if that fits into your budget or not.

The problem we are having with hotels is that we have twins and most of them seem to allow a maximum of one baby per room so not quite sure what we should do with the other one!

That's why we thought a 3 bed apartment between all of us would be a better option but you're right - short term rentals are really expensive.

We are now looking at places out of the city which is what we're doing earlier in the holiday. Renting a house for a few nights in Freemantle or somewhere close to Perth seems much cheaper.

I am going to look at the holiday inn too however as that seems in our budget (up to 250 AUD a night but preferable less!)- thanks/

I'd stay outwith the city. Not sure where(leave this with me) and commute in - the city isn't all that although great to see if you've never been before.

The train and bus service is fantastic so you can get into the city for $8.80 for a family for the day so pretty cheap.

Tell me what you want from Perth and I'll see what I can come up with for you.

Was out today and ended up at Mindarine Marina which has a hotel. Beautiful location and only a short (5 minute) drive to Clarkson train station which in 40 minutes will take you directly into the city.

A possibility.

The marina hotel has a pool and is right at the ocean with bars, restaurants, cafes and shops. I'd stay there.

I stayed at the Bursewood Casino Resort and it was excellent - the rooms were very spacious . I would highly recommend it .
