Singapore hotels

Can anyone recommend any good hotels in Sinagpore for a 2night stop over to Oz ? travelling with 2 kids - ds 3 and dd 6yrs & dh ! ...

Try the Orchard Hotel. very central and near the shopping and monorail.

Hotel Inter-Continental at Bugis Junction. Lovely hotel with an interconnecting airconditioned mall with lots of places to shop and eat. Just a few stops on the underground to Orchard but you probably don't need to go there honestly! Also very near to Raffles Hotel for a Singapore Sling!

The Shangri La is also nice, has a great restaurant for breakfast called the Line and the swimming pool is lovely and warm. Its a short distance from Orchard Road.

The Singapore Sling is way overrated and the Raffles hotel did not seem very child friendly.

don't worry about being too near orchard road -- taxis are cheap

also you can walk just up the road to a couple of superb hawker eating places, absolutely superb, you don't have to go with expensive hotel food in fact I recommend you not to

just turn right out of the hotel, turn right again and cross the road at the lights -- your children will love the chicken rice and you'll love everything else

Shangri-la is brilliant. We are staying there in a couple of weeks on our way to Oz as well. However, have not done it with children before - this is our first time with DD (she is 1) but can't imagine it will be a problem. It has a great swimming pool area and, as Attila said, an amazing breakfast...my DH has been looking forward to it for months!!

Would not recommend the Raffles either. You could also look at the Mandarin Oriental (expensive) and the Marina Mandarin.

sorry this might be too late, but also the Rasa Sentosa Resort - it has 2 POOL SLIDES and its on Sentosa which has loads to do....also agree Raffles Hotel is lovely but the Singapore SLings are way overpriced and overrated.
