Ooooh suprise 3nights in Paris, where to stay?

Dh is taking me to Paris for 3 nights in October but true to form his suprise is the idea if not the actual booking which is down to me now.

So where should we stay
Hotel/self catering apparment
What to see/do

Budget? Is it just the 2 of you?

Just us/ second honeymoon style

We stayed here the last time we went, but we had dd with us and wanted an extra room. It's not cheap but does look like the pictures and the location was good - close the restaurants and nightlife in the Latin Quarter.

looks good, like the idea of an appartment/self catering as I hate being told that you have missed breafast at 10.05am.

Any other ideas much appreciated.

Well Mr and Mrs Smith are doing 2 nights for the price of 1 night all through Oct, Nov and Dec at some hotels in Paris. Have a look at their website.

I have stayed at the Hotel des Saints Peres several times and it is lovey, fantastic location and the shopping nearby is mouth-watering.

Bump and watching with interest -hoping to get to Paris for a weekend but no idea at all where to start looking for a "special" hotel but not one where we feel like we might be at a conference.
