I'm meeting with a friend tomorrow & we have lots of catching up to do, so looking for a nice, but not expensive, restaurant with comfortable chairs ( as opposed to Wagamama style benches) where we can air our opinions on everything.

Probably going to be around Covent Garden/Soho (not chinatown) or maybe Regent street.

Cafe Boheme on old compton st
Soho house
Brown's, st martin's lane
If you like theatre Joe Allen's
national portrait gallery cafe
st alban on regent st
Perre Victoire on Dean st
Covent garden hotrl

I think cafe boheme would most fit your bill - french brasserie style great place to chug wine and gossip - busy though

For truly comfy seats though - try the Eagle Bar (US style diner with dark cosy booths) on Rathbone place. Unless you are real foodies - it's good but it is burgers and hotdogs.

It has to be The Wolsley which I can't spell. It's unfailingly good with a fantastic atmosphere.

Where did you go then?
