MIL paying for us to go on holiday. Where to go?

She hasnt specified how much she will pay though. We have never been on holiday and I think the break might do us all good. We would probably be better self catering?? Probably best to stay in UK? We want to go the last week in August. I wont be too fat to travel then either lol. Any ideas anyone? I am very new to this!!!

I think it all depends in the budget. with children I think self cattering is easier. What sort of trip would you preffer? beach? camping? what about a romantic trip with DH without the children? (I would die for one of those...)

There are some LOVELY beaches in Wales if you want a beachy type place.

ALso Dorset is fab... Studland has a gorgeous beach (or used to when we went there when i was a kid)
New Forest is nice... specially for camping.

jesus!!! That is expensive! I just checked it out myself for you because we found it was cheaper on Silver accomodation than it was Standard, but it is more expensive for you.... its a shame - could have been a MN holiday meet-up!

Titania · 04/06/2005 17:59

yes we could have!.....

jessicasmummy · 04/06/2005 18:00

but then if MIL is paying.... LOL!

starlover · 04/06/2005 18:17

I don't think that's TOO bad for 5 of you tbh. Although, i guess you then have food on top...

See how much MIL is prepared to pay!

misdee · 04/06/2005 18:19

Went to www.gwynfrynfarm.co.uk for 3 nights in April and ds (2.8) loved it. It's on Lleyn Penninsula so not too far for you. Children get to see the milking, pigs, chickens etc. Lovely indoor swimming pool, games room plus soft play area for the 15 month old. Playground, trampolines & toy tractors to ride around. Lovely beaches nearby and good standard of accommodation.

misdee · 05/06/2005 09:01

i missed that one!!!

if your ds school will allow it, it'll be cheaper from the 3rd sept onwards.
