Any recommendations for a nice pub that a few family members, including children could go to following a cremation service in Headington next week? On Wed, lunchtime...

the nicest one is the White Hart in Old Headington - trad and old-fashioned and has a lovely garden, but there is NO parking - park in the pay & display behind the Waitrose on the Old High St. I can recommend the pies.

The Black Boy down the road is meant to be good too but have never been in.

I'd second the White Hart. You could always walk children over to the park if everyone needs a breather. (park backs onto the carpark recommended)

Thanks very much...think I'd heard about the Black Boy (still can't get over pubs still being called that!)...but the White Hart sounds nice, will check it out...

if it's any consolation it has a chimney sweep on the sign these days...
