Needs to have good veggie options and not be hideously expensive. Thanks!

With kids or without?

Without I would say Patisserie Valerie in Old Compton St. Cakes are fabulous and plenty of lunch options too.

Here

With - but older and well behaved. Googling now; thanks!

Mildreds in Soho is fantastic, marvellous cakes and not too overpriced.

janeite · 22/08/2009 22:44

Thank you. Googling some more!

For something more substantial, Masala Zone on Marshall St does yummy Indian food, or Leon on Carnaby St does nice poncy organic food.

janeite · 22/08/2009 23:04

Just been looking at Leon and then saw this! Masala Zone sounds good too. Thanks.

Bump for the 'Sunday-girls' (have been listening to Blondie!).

There's a Primrose Bakery in C Garden now too here

If you're coming in quite soon, I saw that kids eat free at Loch Fyne Oyster Bar in August

janeite · 23/08/2009 16:48

Thanks. Primrose Bakery looks like dd1's dream place! Is it a sit down cafe, or just a counter, do you know?

We are veggie, so oyster bar probably no use!

It is sit down but not too many tables.

Realised you were veggie after I posted . Would recommend Leon too.

janeite · 23/08/2009 18:02

Lovely - lots of choices. May do Leon for lunch and cupcakes for afters, although am v tempted by Masala Zone too!

Final bump for fresh ideas - we're going tomorrow.

Thank you to Meg - we went to Masala Zone (the one in Covent Garden) and it was lovely. And then we had Earl grey and cupcakes at the Wellcome Collection (fabbo medical exhibition - I highly recommend it, although dd was a bit freaked out).

Have saved this thread for future reference - thanks all.
