How much money do you take on Hols?

we are going to Majorca next week, family 2 adults 2 children.

I always order to much currency and end up at a loss, How much do you genarally spend on a weeks holiday?

Obviously its different for countries, but on a whole.

Why don't you just take your card and get local currency out of the cashpoint as you go along? There is a fee but you get screwed on exchange rates if you buy foreign currency before you leave home anyway.

Impossible question to answer really. We take a few hundred pounds in local currency cash and then use credit cards for meals out and supermarket shopping if we are self catering. We would then just withdraw more cash from a cash machine if we need it. There is a handling fee on credit cards and cash withdrawals but the rate of exchange is usually better than buying cash in the UK.
