My MIL has offered to take us all (her and her partner, my SIL, her husband, her two kids, me, my DH and our dd) away for a warm christmas somewhere. Does anyone have any recommendations for maybe Egypt or Gran Canaria? Has anyone gone away like this at xmas with family?

We'd need villa or apartment style accommodation as SIL is anti big hotels. (strange I know). It also really needs to be within about 6-7 hours of the UK so that discounts Asia etc. I think the budget is around the mid priced level not luxurious.

I'd really appreciate any ideas..

We have had three Xmasses in the Costa del Sol and had really good weather, shorts and t-shirts/on the beach weather.

We stay with my Mum but there are loads of villas/apartments. Visiting Malaga for Christmas lights and roasted chestnuts is lovely!
