Best (cheapest) website for booking hotels?

We are off to NYC at the begininng of October, have more or less decided on hotel, now am trawling through websites to try and find the best price - can anyone recommend any sites that I havent tried?

Don't know what you have tried but is good as it compares everything and you can put in the name of your hotel.

Another tip is that when you find a hotel or site that you like, google for a discount code for it, ie, if you saw it on hotelopia then just google "hotelopia discount code". Have saved in the past by doing this, you can usually find a wee 10% off or something that way.
