Think it was £93 when went with my Dad last time, so 2 ad 2 kids 1 car.

Have thoroughly looked, and think that for the length of time we're going (+ B+B costs) it's really not worth it

Probably too late for you Notnowbernard, but we've just been over for a day trip and got a fare that was way cheaper than the inconsistent confusing fares I was quoted by the Wightlink website. The secret? Pick up the phone and speak to a REAL person - friendly and helpful. I like £35 return for 2 adults, 1 car and 1 small person, as opposed to the £70 the website said at first and the £149 it told me subsequently! Great day out, will be going back for a week next year.

It's very expensive in the summer, less so out of season. We went for new year and it was about £40 for the ferry for 2 people and a car I think.

But yes definitely don't do it online, do it by phone or buy on the day (disadvantage of this is you have no warning of the price)

Oh and as for what islanders do - they get a discount!

We did it with tesco clubcard vouchers - did not cost us anything!
