anyone been? any good? ds is good walker and we want a nice day out tomorrow. thought it might be fun and could hire bikes

Yes is great, not sure the bike hire is open now - certainly wasn't when we went earlier in the season. Great walks and the cafe is nice though - the easy access walk is ideal for tots upwards. Watch out for the parking charges, they are double at the weekends as it counts as peak time and you can easily end up getting half the time you thought you were getting and needing to pay again! You may need waterproofs looking at the forecast though.
