Where is warm in the Eastern MEd in September - help my bickering parents please

Dad is goign to book and offfer her to come and sya " right am going anyway"

they need

culture
nice basic accomodation
Local tavernas
just to sit and read books and watch the world go by

have been here before - this kind of thing, are very seasoned international travellers

Have been to Corsica in the last week of Sept and it was still lovely and warm but not too hot and cooler in the evenings to be able to sleep. Perfect time to go imo. and has culture, great food, and lovely wild unspoilt feel to the place.
