Surprise celebration treat for dh - ideas for night out in London

dh has just learned he's got a much-deserved promotion at work & I've arranged overnight babysitters so we can stay in London on Saturday & celebrate. I've booked a hotel. Trouble is, he knows London better than I do (he works there) & I have no idea where to eat/drink. Can anyone recommend somewhere where he's unlikely to have done corporate entertaining but which would be a suitable treat, please?

If money is no object -- Claridge's.

Otherwise Andrew Edmunds on Lexington Street cannot recommend highly enough.

Sod Claridges - best restaurant in London Launceston Place. Enormously less pretentious, but at the very least, equally exclusive and utterly orgasmically delish.

Have the mackerel.

(with caviar natch and personally I'd couple with veuve clicquot unless really pushing boat out in which case order the vintage Dom)

If you do fancy a bit of Gordon, the York and Albany is fab for lunch

Thank you both - Andrew Edmunds & Launceston Place look wonderful. Now I just have to decide.

Or try the Bleeding Heart - far too romantic for corporate entertaining!
