Premier Inn-esque hotels in France

Are there any hotel chains in France that are similar to Premier Inns in the UK, i.e. Can fit a family of four in one room, has ensuite, is clean and doesn't cost the Earth? TIA.

try Campanile, novotel, ibis, premiere classe, mercure.

Whereabout are you looking to stay? It isn't always easy to get a 4 bedded room

It looks like the novotel is the only one to allow 4 in a room, though none in Cherbourg!

We've stayed in a Ibis in Paris, it's seems Premier Inn-esque

BBhotel chain, regularly use the Cherbourg one. It is across the road from Auchan. V child friendly Buffalo Grill close by - obv. not French cuisine!

Campanile in Bayeux has 4 bedded room - depends how far you are prepared to be from Cherbourg?

Isn't there a chain called Formula 1 which are similar. I have seen them all over france and they are yellow. Not sure how good they are but people I know have stayed in them en route to the south.

I am viewing this with interest as I too am looking for a hotel with rooms for 4 in Cherbourg.

This is cherbourg Forumle 1. Still no idea what they are like but popular as stopovers.

I think Formule1 only do rooms for 3 people. We used Villages Hotels when we travelled to
Poitiers previously as this was the only chain that we could find that catered for 4.

B & B Hotels do rooms for 4 in Cherbourg.

Formule 1 are VERY basic and they do not have ensuite bathrooms. There are shared facilities at the end of the corridor - not ideal for families with children

Thanks everyone. I booked a novotel a couple of hours drive towards our ultimate destination in the end but the B&B does look good

I've stayed at formule 1 and yes very basic but do have space for 3 or 4 to sleep and the ones i've stayed did have en suite tiny shower room and loo...might be worth checking the one you are interested in/ i've not stayed at Cherbourg.
