Hi, I´m thinking of buying an second hand caravan, what do I need to know? Any tips?

I´d like one big enough to sleep 2 adults and 2 kids..

And particular (brand) caravan recommended? I´m starting from zero here, never stayed in a caravan before!

check for damp, especially under the beds/seats and where pipes go also round the windows and the roof. feel for spongy floors when walking as that is a bad sign too.

I love my caravan, It makes a great spare room for visitors too.

Damp.. oh.. do caravans often leak then? I´m looking at a few atm from 1990. Do you think they ´re likely to be too old and knackered?

I like the spare room thought!

Its just that when they do leak and its not spotted its really hard to repair and weakens the caravan. If theres no damp a 1990's one should be ok, we looked at a couple, the decor is sometimes a bit dodgy thou!
