European Breakdown Cover

I was wondering if any of you have ever broken down abroad and had to use this service. Did they provide all the services promised?

Hi JeffVader. We have travelled for many years abroad and although our cars are reliable in uk and we always have a thorough holiday service before we go, they do seem to break down abroad. However all the break down cover we have taken out has been brilliant. Our alfa romeo overheated on the way down to s. of france and the insurance covered us for another car for the rest of the holiday and got our car back to our local garage in the uk. Brilliant service. We now tow caravan and the caravan club red pennant service is very good. We have also used aa and rac which were both very good. I would definitely go for it.

Thanks for that BB! I do like to err on the side of caution as a rule, but I was interested to hear of any RL experiences.
