We are going to Scotland, we have not banked the week anywhere. Tbh the whole timeshare buying experience was a bit bizarre - we hardly got any information. We knew the resort we wanted, dh's parents have one there too and we have visited it before, so knew what it was like but if we hadn't, I think I would have been wary as it was kind of like buying blind. No info was given regarding the exchange company. Have heard good things about DialanExchange though.

Really Fimbo? We are going in peak season - July this year and paid something like 4.3K for 3 adults and 2 dcs...

Get them to quote you over the phone...you may find it's cheaper.

OR you may be paying more because you are booking so far in advance. We did get an early booking discount for booking in Jan this year, and also a free child place - limited avail.

How many of you are there? Where would you fly from?

Have just looked at the site, looks like to me you have to pay to get the exchange brochure - might be worth getting?

We get a new brochure every year through the post and can also view properties online, but we do actually pay for out through our maintanence fees.

Not sure if this is what you mean but we are just back from Menorca self catering (they also do AI) and the apt had a main living room / kitchen and a second room with twin beds (pushed together to make a double). The sofa in the living room could be converted into 2 more beds. 'twas fab, I'd really recommend it. Hotel Viva Menorca

That's interesting Bella, I am going to query things when I get there.

Sycamore - we could fly from any London airport or Norwich. Will try the phone call route.

Thank you everyone, help very much appreciated.

We actually came away with tons of info - not that we took any of it in whilst they were telling us like, but we do have it all written down in the paperwork they gave us.

We are with Starwood Vacation Ownership.
