Hiya, I am travelling down to Cornwall with my lo this Sunday and want a stop off on route to break the journey up. while service stations are ok, I really want somewhere my LO who is 10 months can stretch his legs and have a crawl around. Any recommendations - we will probably stop somewhere on the M5 between Bristol and Exeter. Thanks in advance

I go there often, highly recommended

Thank you, the whirlkidz one looks great, and not too far off the motorway. Do you know opening times ? will be passing there probably around 9:30 / 10 ish. Thank you so much x

No need to pay bridge toll to go to Chepstow, the Mall at Cribbs (right next to M5 junction) has just had a new softplay area put in here is details. Free, and you can get something to eat and drink while you are there

I was also going to suggest the free softplay at The Mall. Also going to Chepstow will add atleast 1.5 hours to your journey.

There is also Jump at The Mall and Puxton Park just off of the M5 near Weston.

thank you thank you thank guys. Really appreciate it. Life would be a lot easier if service stations catered for kids wouldnt it !

There is also JUMP in the same area as Cribbs, it's in the TRading Estate behind it so still only 5 mins off the motorway. J17 I think.

Ther is a good place in Tiverton, Monster's mansion. It's really close to the M5 (about 2 mins from the junction) and, I would have thought, likely to be quieter than one in Bristol.

dic (my, that sounds rude, will stick to 'drowning' in future ), that place looks awesome
We suffered the soft play at Riverside today- never again
One child had weed and left a puddle. The mum knew about it, but didn't think to mop it up or tell anyone. Hence about 5 or 6 littlies including dd stepping right in it

drowninginclutter · 27/05/2009 20:58

That's awful! The wee, not calling me DIC, I kind of like the fact I've accidentally ended up with the kind of initials you'd avoid giving to your children

Puxton is great but more of a full day excursion. Ooh I didn't know about soft play at Cribbs.

I recently visited Whirlikidz in Chepstow with my two kids aged 2 and 4. A bit of a disappointment really. The baby area was ill equipped and on the tatty side. The toddler/ older area was not great, although I appreciate these things are not easy to give a clean. The parking was limited and the food was very standard. If I had to look on the plus side it is close to tesco. Can anyone recommend a better softplay in the area?

brassick · 29/12/2011 15:21

Depends how far you want to travel, Forestlad, but jump in Cardiff is excellent, so I guess the one in Bristol will be good too.
