Vancouver this summer

My dh who never wants to travel anywhere now wants to go to Vancouver this summer. I'm thinking - shit - cost - I'm losing my job shortly. Aslo my view is if we do longhaul it wouldn't be my choice of destination.

Anyone know of any charter flights to canada.

Also is vancouver a good place for 3 year olds?

Anyone got any experience of Vancouver?

vancouver is fab. Flights there can be a bit pricey.

You might find that a fly-drive deal to Seattle might work out cheaper, then you can drive to Van (2 hours).

Most of vancouver in the summer is outdoorsy/beach-orientated. Be aware that the slow-moving tide on Spanish banks and Kits mean that gastroenteritiis is quite common - not so over on Ambleside on the North Shore.

Stuff to do:
Grouse Mountain
trail Walking
beach
beach
beach!
gardens - China Town and QE gardens

1st July is Canada day and a bit of a laugh as everyone hangs the maple leaf from their apartment/house and heads to the beach for a BBQ.

woops, child emergency

Vancouver is a nice city to visit; lots of shops and good places to visit. People are friendly too.

Not sure about charter flights however, we used BA to fly there. Air Canada may also fly there direct too.

We went to the Islands for a day trip. We also went to Whistler. Stanley Park and Granville Island are also nice.
