We went about 10 years ago pre children.

Stayed near Llanes which didn't have a real holiday feel but was a nice harbour town.

Some of our photographs from our holiday show the most beautiful scenery. It is somewhere to get the most out of you could do to do some gentle hiking in the Picos de Europa.

There were lovely beaches although the sea was not calm as I remember dh bodyboarding.

The weather was very mixed (think British) and we went in July.

I wouldn't go with a toddler particularly to this area.Depends on whether you are keen walkers.

If you want child friendly beaches IMO you can't beat Sardinia or Corsica which are both lovely in June.We have been to both several times with children.Calvi is a good base in Corsica and there are inland mountains and villages to explore.Mainland Spain,we enjoyed Catalunya(Costa Brava)area around Pals.
