World Challenge - Uganda packing!

Hiya,

I'm going to Uganda backpacking with World Challenge in two weeks time for a month and after getting the checklist through the post today, I am very worried we're only allowed to take three pairs of knickers with us! (I don't want to run out) I'm also thinking it would be best to wear skirts because of the heat instead of trousers.

Has anyone got any other advice they could give me?

Thanks!

Steph

DS2 went to Lesotho last year (hot but not so humid, I would imagine). He was with his school group plus World Challenge leaders who ruthlessly threw out any items that were surplus to the list (eg extra underwear!) before they left for the airport. Presumably you can wash your undies in the soap allowance every night and they will dry easily.

Blimey 3 pairs of knickers, you will have to turn them inside out to make them last a bit longer!

Where will you be in Uganda? I'm in East Africa too. Take one skirt, but take trousers too, against mossies at dusk/night. And a long sleeved thin top. When we go on safari I always take a pair of 3/4 length trousers also, as they are good for walking through the bush. Try to get cotton clothes as they let your skin breathe easily even if very hot and humid.

What will you be doing?
