Sydney - hotel/apartment recommendation needed please?

I'm going to Sydney with DS, 7, and DD, 6, in August so am looking for a hotel/apartment for our three day stopover. Somewhere close to the action would be good! TIA.

We stayed in a brilliant hotel/ apartment place just by circular quay-will try and remember what it was called.

We stayed in a v cheap serviced apartment in Potts Point. The balcony had wonderful views and Potts Point was v convenient for pretty much everything. But this was back in 2001 and I can't remember what it was called - might be worth a google search?
