Centre Parcs - Shall we Upgrade from Comfort Plus?

We have booked a weekend break at Elveden in a couple of weeks time and chose a comfort plus because is seemed quite a good price £359.00). However, I have read various reviews and some say that these are like coal bunkers! I have checked the CP website and we could upgrade to an original executive villa for an extra £140.00 Can't decide if it is worth it or not - can anyone whose been offer any advice please!

Myself and a couple of MNers stayed in an exec lodge in Feb. Definitely worth the extra, ime.

Haven't been to Elveden, but have to other CP and always in Comfort Plus. Can't say any of them have been coal bunkers! Perhaps depends on how much time you are going to spend in the accommodation, and how important the 'extra' bits and pieces are to YOU. If it would spoil your break not to have them, then it's worth it - if you think you'll have a fun/relaxing time regardless, then probably not

One thing we did do, which, beforehand I didn't think I'd be interested in, was the Spa. It was really lovely, no treatments, facials etc., but the jacuzzis, steam rooms, hammams etc were great and I felt VERY relaxed (and clean!)

Go to Elveden once a year and always stay in Comfort Plus, can't say I felt that I was roughing it.

Quick glance at the website says that for your extra £140 you would get daily maid service (to do what?) enhanced decor (?), en-suite bathroom/shower room (given the amount of time we spend in the swimming pool we always shower there) and Sauna/steam room (only in certain types - so not guaranteed).

Up to you, but when we go we wouldn't really get any benefit form the extras.

We have stayed at Elveden in comfort plus twice and have been very happy with the facilities.

We've stayed at CP many times and have usually stayed in the woodland lodges (the newly designed ones), but there really is not much difference - yes they are a bit newer and less 'used', but if you're only there for the weekend, what is the point of spending an extra 140.00? You're not really in it during the day and in the eve, once the log fire is on and you're cosy on the sofa, are you going to notice the difference? Spend the 140.00 on something nice for yourselves instead! Have a fab time

We went for a week (not Elveden) and also then for a weekend. Because it was winter/Easter we knew we would spend a fair bit of time inside, partiular the week long holiday. So we paid for the extras.
