What should we do about Mexico

I have a real dilema and need advice/opinions

My sister is due to get married in Mexico this summer and we are all booked to go DH DD's 4 years and 2 years

Obviously with the current Swine Flu outbreak we are concerned about travelling there.

We are not going until the 28th July and are due to pay the balance of our holiday next week. I am concerned that if we pay the balance and then the WHO say it is okay to travel there but we decide that we don't feel safe doing so we will loose all our money (£4K!!!)

Also need to have injections if we are going but am loathed to put the kids through that unnesecarily if we don't end up going but am not sure how long I can leave it before we are due to travel to get them done?

What do we do?

oh golly - I wouldn't want to make that decision to be honest.
I suppose the 'upside' is, that it may be properly pandemic by then and then it won't matter catching wise which country you are in.

I would fist check with your travel insurance that you will be fully covered, not only with regards to cancellation but also full medical cover if you did get poorly.

I'd also ask for a phone consult with your gp to talk over options (perhaps maybe you would be allowed to take medical supplies for instance - I dunno....)

Also, phone the travel company. Ask if you can have an extension for paying the final amount. they may be understanding.

Good luck with your decision.
