....does anyone have any good websites that I can search through for gites / cottages?

Also, i know nothing about camping, etc. does anyone know which companies I should be looking at and particularly which are the most upmarket in terms of clientele, facilities, acommmodation, etc.

Thanks in advance....

La Garangeoire campsite is a MN favourite - in the grounds of a chateau, nice restaurant, quiet at night. Lots to do on site and beach is about 15 minutes drive away. Downsides are that it is quite big (so if your children are young you may not feel happy to let them roam on their own and it is almost totally English in terms of clientele...

I've been with Canvas (they aere French lifwe then camping life, then canvas life before0 for 8 years and the qulaity of mobiles etc has been excellent. Used to go on Eurocamp hols as a teenager (20 years ago!!) and they were clean etc but had a dirty eurocamp van 2 years ago!!!!
Where do you want to go? Site right on the beach? Fly or drive? Small n quiet or big with lots on? Lots to consider....
