Where would you stop en route?

We'll need to stop off somewhere, maybe just for a bit of stroll and a bite to eat in a cafe.

Where's nice / interesting / easy to get to?

Have you planned your journey on www.viamichelin.com? That can be quite helpful.

Probably too far to the West but Dinan is just beautiful - like absolutely beautiful.

My guess is there will be thousands of wee cafés along your route - tis France after all. Hope you have a lovely time.

Haven't planned our route, hf, other than looking at a map. Was hoping for some less automated recommendations

Sorry! I am a bit of a planning freak!

Used that route loads. There are quite a few motorway style stops on the way down. Some big ones and a few little ones.
HTHs

LOL hf. My brain is collapsing with planning. This whole "booking your own holiday" thing is exhausting!

I want MNers to do it for me

Oooh, ronshar! So. If you wanted to stop for a couple of hours somewhere, maybe see something interesting, small town perhaps, but not a big day out as such, where would you stop? I'm baffled with choice, you see.

AAh now that is different. I shall have to investigate further for you. We have stopped a few times but never for a sightseeing stop.
I shall try and get back tomorrow with some ideas.

MaryMotherOfCheeses · 10/05/2009 23:22

Aaah, that's nice of you

Sorry I lost the thread and also completely forgot

Chantilly is lovely, always worth a stop.
Are you goimg as far as Limoges. It is a beautiful old city. We got lost walking around at midnight. Not to be recommended.

If you see the big road signs then they usually indicate a place of interest. A bit like the Brown ones we have over here. Normally they are spot on, but it all depends on what you want to do when you stop.
