My sister and her family are coming to stay with us next moth and are due to arrive at Heathrow at 18.40 on a friday evening. Does anyone know how hideous the traffic will be trying to get there at that time of night? I will be coming from J 24 of the M25. Or perhaps I should use the North Circular.
My DM wants me to tell them to get the tube but that would be cruel after a flight from Australia me thinks

Yes, it would be unfair to ask them to get the tube but the traffic WILL be hideous!

If they are due to arrive at 1840, they won't be free to leave the airport until 1930/2000. The M25 will have calmed by then.

Scienceteacher, thanks for that info as I wasn't sure how long to allow for customs etc. The DCs and I came back on a friday night last year but I have no memory as to how long it took us to get through to the arrivals lounge.

Firsttimemama, DS is begging to come with me but I keep telling him that there won't be room. I do have a fairly big car but i can imagine my 15 year old niece is not going to be traveling light .
