Corfu?

Any resort recommendations, preferably not too far from the airport. Tia

No-one on here been to Corfu then?

I HAVE been to Corfu, but it was a long time ago, pre DC, and I'm not sure the resorts I went to would be what you'd be looking for

In general, the northern resorts (Sidari is one that springs to mind) was quieter and more sedate than Benitses and Kavos, which I think you'd best avoid (unless someone with more recent knowledge can advise?) There was another very pretty resort on the west coast, Paleocastristra (sp?) which may be another non-party town. Hope this helps a bit

Paleo... is a lovely place - well, it was in 2005 when I went on a daytrip. DH and I went to Rhoda which was nice and I seem to recall it was good for families (but was pre-DD so I wasn't the best judge).

We stayed at Hotel Aphropdite which had a fab view.

The other thing that I remember about Rhoda was that there were loads of nice restaurants. I am all about the food!

Enjoy your hols. DH and I are just discussing how on earth we'd go abroad with a little one. It was hard enough when there were just two of us.... Have a great time, I am very jealous!

Oh, just re-read your OP. Can't remember how far it was from the airport.

We stayed in a place called Kassiopi, up the top end of the Island. It was nice. Sidari was more touristy. I think the nearer to Corfu town you get, the more 18-30 it is.

We stayed at the Dassia Bay Chandris and that area/hotel wasn't 18-30 at all. Only 15 mins to Corfu Town on the bus.

Kassiopi is beautiful, but best out of season. Anywhere north west is the best and quietest. Some of the villas between kassiopi and acharavi are to die for and quite reasonable. Avoid kavos, ipsos, benitses, dassia and sidari! HAve been there so many times and simply love the place..

I just Googled Dassia and it says it is a lively resort for youngsters with loads of watersports. Well, it wasn't when we were there but we went in October so it is probably very different in the summer. So don't go to Dassia even though I recommended it, well do go there if you are holidaying late in the season!

Paleokatritsa (sp?) was very pretty!

I like Roda and San Stefanos, think both about 1-2 hours from airport, lovely for kids, loads of beaches and trips etc to go on. Fab place Corfu.
