Thinking of going to the algarve this month, will it be hot enough to sit by the pool or can anyone recommend a better destination for some serious sun, TIA

We were there last March and at the end of October and most days were able to sit on the beach in our bathers. The evenings chilled off quickly though. I think May would be lovely, especially if you have youngish lo's.

would you need a heated pool, youngest is 3 and oldest is 7

Yes to a heated pool - and the sea is always nobbling out there!

of course buk

we are going to Ibiza later this month (usually a bit cooler than Portugal) and it is forecast 24 deg tomorrow

We went 5th May 2008 and it was nice most days, but some days were cool and a bit windy with light rain. Think the weather back here was actually better. The pool was unheated but was ok for swimming after the first 10 mins of getting in, but obviously would of been better if it was heated. Soemone bought a small paddling pool for the little tots which they enjoyed and the sun easily heated this.

We also went end of May 27th 2007, and it was around 25 c most days with no rain or much cloud. Seemed to be a big difference between beginning and end of May.
