October half-term, "main" holiday - any suggestions please?

For numerous reasons, we are taking our "main" holiday in October this year at half-term.

Has anyone had any good experiences abroad at this time of year ? Have two Ds's who will be 3 and nearly 6, don't mind spending some money on it, but we would like to go somewhere warm.

Where can we go for a lovely time? Thanks in advance.

Cyprus is lovely and will still be warm in October.

Or you could try Canaries, I love parts of Gran Canaria and Lanzarote, not fussed on Fuerteventura

I know, I was thinking about the Canaries, don't know much about Cyprus though? Is it quite child friendly?

Yes very, and the Cypriot people are great with children, I loved it.

We stayed in Paphos, but I hear Coral Bay also very nice

we are doing the same thing - off to coral bay area for oct half term, my parents go end of oct every year and say sea temp perfect, pools still warm enough and generally very very pleasant - hurrah

I believe Corsica is lovely late season, although I've never been. Greece and Cyprus may both be good choices, but parts of Greece certainly, do start to close down in early autumn (restaurants etc).

Thanks for all the input everyone. I have only just come back to the thread.

Its a bit needle in a haystack isn't it. In an ideal world someone is going to come and wave a magic wand and do it for me, but realistically that isn't going to happen is it?

Cyprus - The Anassa is lovely. As is the Columbia Beach.
