Anyone know about Ryanair and check-in with infant

Help..I'm losing the will to live.

Haven't booked tickets yet but we are planning to go to Pisa in June. We only live 20 mins from Manchester airport but the only people who actually fly direct from there (Jet2) fly at 7.30am. That would mean getting up 2 young kids at 4.30 am. However, Ryannair go from Liverpool at decent time (only an hr away). Really wish there was a decent alternative.

Am confused about online check-in, it says we all have to check-in at airport if we have an infant. Which for me, DH, 2yo and baby is £80, but then it says somebody can claim back. It says this:

Where a passenger is unable to avail of Online Check-in by reason only of a matter marked () above any airport check-in fee paid will be refunded upon application. A refund of the airport check-in fee is only applicable to the person unable to avail of the service and not all passengers in the reservation. ( passengers travelling with infants)

Their call centre isn't open so can't find out. I read somewhere you only get charge back for the person carrying the infant. Would it be worth booking in 2 separate lots so 2 people can book online seeing as tho you get charged per person anyway! Oh I get the feeling this is not going to be good. Grr. Don't like them already!

Just wait until you get to the bag charges.

I think only the person sharing the seat with an Infant can claim back the airport check in fees. So it may be worth booking your DH and 3yo old separately to check in online.

would advice to get priority seating especially if a busy flight

Oh, I've seen the bag charges. Grr. I'm not great at slimline packing. I usually go for the shove everything in approach. So I think we're going to have to book 3 bags for the 4 of us.

So can we book DH and 3yo separately for online check-in even if we buy the tickets altogether. I worry that if I was to book mine and baby's ticket and then go back and book DH's and 2yo ticket separately the seats would all be gone or I'd book them on a different flight to us. You see this is why we usually only go on hols in the UK I hate all the stress associated with travelling abroad. We are only going cos my Dad bought a house out in Italy a few years ago and have made excuses not to go ever since!

Does anyone fly to Florence from Manchester? The train from Florence to Pisa isn't bad at all -- just over an hour's journey time and there are several trains an hour IIRC.

Do you have to go through Pisa? There are other Italian airports and the train system out there is fab and frequent. Perhaps you could look at Rome?
