Changing pre-allocated seats BA

We're flying to Florida next week and have had received our pre allocated seats which are of course in the middle. 24 hours before the flight we can change these seats if others are available, has anybody experience of doing this? Will there be any window seats free? Thanks

IIRC, Check the BA website - you just need your e-ticket number (I think) and you can chane your seating ....

I don't know if this is the case 72 or 24 hrs before flight departure ...

There may be - it depends on the flight. Gold and silver card holders get priority, as do people with children and people connecting to your flight may book in earlier so your choice may be limited. There is usually some choice though.

You will need to look and check in online 24 hours before departure.

You can do the above if the seats were booked directly with BA - if so you'll have a six digit/letter reference. If the booking was made through a travel agent then there may be less flexibility.

Use your BA flight booking ref and use the ba website, 24 hours prior to departure. You should be able to change them even if your travel agent has gone to the trouble of pre-requesting them. Why did they pre allocate them are you traveling with and infant, or for some other reason? If so, then you may not be able to change them.

FWIW If you are going long haul, you won't be able to see much out of the window for about 98 per cent of the flight. I like the middle seats, more leg room and they also are less noisy then the ones by the windows for some reason. On long haul the constant noise can be very annoying.
