flying with two - stroller connectors?

Due to fly in the Summer with 2yr old and 6 month old. We have a Phil and Teds but I think it will be too bulky to take on the plane and may get damaged. We also have a Maclaren buggy and could borrow a second one. Have seen "stroller connectors" advertised that link two Maclarens to make two singles into a double. Has anyone used these? Would this be a better idea for the plane?

AM doing the same this summer - but with an 8mth and 3.3 have bought this www.culladelbimbo.it/dettaglio.asp?art=7490 as it will fit in the overhead locker and as LGw are so cr*p at giving you the buggy on arrival and it is a long walk for little legs -
as have 2 flights to do - 1 dc will go in the pack the other in the buggy then when I can't manage the baby will go in the buggy and dd will walk !!!
I am checking in my 'proper buggy' ina travel bag and it will be plastered in Fraglie stickers!
