Apologies in advance if this is waffly!

Right, we booked a camping holiday in France last October we are going this August. We booked via a camping company similar to Keycamp type and booked accomodation and ferries.

We booked so far in advance to get dates and site we wanted and also to budget for it ( although they did balls the site allocation up initially but did go on to sort it out no probs)

We were told when booking that ferries couldn't be confirmed until feburary when the times etc were confirmed by ferry operaters.

We booked the ferries we wanted and everyting was all tooted up and they came up with a grand total.

On to last week, we get a final invoice and the ferrues have changed, the inbound crossing is totally different to a different port at a different time and wasn't suitable at all.So we rang them and thought it would just be an admin error but no, they had booked the alternative route because the ferry prices had increased so much this year that they were unable to fulfill the full quota of bookings they had taken for that crossing.

We have now cancelled the ferries with them and booked directly with ferry company and just had the accomodation with them but we will still be £100 out of pocket.

So my question is,should they have honoured the booking in full even if they would have been out of pocket because we had effectively entered into a contract with them when we booked?Do we have any way to try and get some recompense for this?

We are going to write with our concerns but feel pretty let down all in all but felt that our hands were tied really.

If you've got this far then cheers

Any advice would be great

Did you get the confirmation if February.

If you have something as confirmed then you have a contract and they are in the wrong.

If it was still "subject to confirmation" then contractually (if not morally) then they are covered.
