Going to the beach with dd on Thurs for the first time by myself. Shes 17 months.

We've decided to go to west whittering, I've never been there before.

Any advice/tips gratefully recieved

Our Fav - Loads of space so take lots of toys/balls etc - can be windy but unlikely to be busy so should find shelter under by the breaks. Turning left from the Car Park is always less busy (in season) and so we prefer it. Don't rate the food - take a picnic. Oh and Enjoy

I'm going to get a bucket and spade tomorrow and I'm going to take her ball.

Is there a place I can buy her an ice cream?

There is a cafe there that sells food, drinks and ice creams etc. Agree with Surreylady though the food isn't great, but fine for a lolly etc.

Ah - also had a thought, are you aware there is a charge to get into WW Beach? The amount changes according to season, so not sure how much it'll be.

I didnt know that MagNacarta, is that on top of the car park charge?

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone

We went to toddlers day at the Lookout yesterday and had a great time dispite dd covering me in paint She really enjoyed it and I could see how much more fun it would be for her once shes a little older.
Also looked a great place to walk the dog and dd could play in the park while we have a coffee after.

Today we went west wittering and an exhausting but fun day. DD is absolulty worn out! The beach was great for her and she loved the little pools of water that appeared when the tide went (very far!) out. Also the beach wasnt far from the car so that made life easy for me and the grass was the perfect place for our picnic lunch

Tomorrow we are off too marwell to make the most of my last day of leave
