Sicily

I'm thinking of going to Sicily in May or June this year with a toddler and DP - can anyone recommend where to stay? And how did you fins Sicily?

is beautiful but can get really really hot for small children. We went in september last year and was 36-40 degrees from about 10 in the morning to about 4 in the afternoon.

It can be really quite hot in Sicily in June. May, especially the beginning should be all right.

If you are feeling very flush this place is just opening.

Antares Complex - 3 interconnecting hotels built up the side of a mountain with funicular railway to access them. Every room with balcony / private patio area. 2 large swimming pools with fantastic views over the coast. Near Letojanni - not much in Letojanni itself although major improvements are taking place in the town, but a really
good base for easy travel to Catania, Taormina, Messina, Syracuse, Etna and the Aeolian Islands (fantastic trip to see stromboli errupting at night). Palermo is a good 2/3 hour journey across the centre, but worth it.

Loved Sicily - so much I went there 3 times last year.
