Hand luggage with Ryanair from Stansted - do they weigh it?

Since Ryanair changed their policies about paying to check in bags etc., have they got more strict about weighing hand luggage? I've never had mine weighed before, but that was before they brought in the new rules and I'm wondering if they are more strict now.

Yes - maximum weight is 10kg, I believe. But they've never actually weighed mine.

Yes it's definitely 10kg, what I'm wondering is whether they actually weigh it or could I get away with a bit more, as I did in the past. We're trying to get by with jsut hand-luggage...

We've never had ours weighed (last flew Ryanair in Feb) but they did once pick up one of our bags so might have weighed it if they thought we were over the weight limit.

One tip is to cram your pockets full of as much as possible. It's amazing how many soft toys can fit into coat pockets! Coats don't count as hand luggage (yet!!!) if you're wearing them.

They state that even shopping purchased in departures must now fit into your one item of hand luggage so it's probably worth being careful.

They didn't weigh ours at Easter. I suspect they would if it looked oversized, but they don't have the time to weigh everyone!

As a frequent Lyin Air traveller (sympathies please) there is no consistancy, I have had small light bags weighed I have had large border line hand luggage bags waved through. I haven't noticed them getting any stricter in the last 12 months though.

i'm flying with RyanAir next week- I have a suitcase that measures: 56cm x 39cm x 23cm.
Ryanair's handluggage must only measure 50cm x 40cm x 20cm.

Is it worth the risk or will I get away with it??

I flew from Stansead o Perpignan and the weighed ours and I had to pay 66 quid for our over weights. I was not a happy bunny so please be careful!! x
