Recommended travel insurance? Help!

Any gurus out there? I need an annual travel insurance policy for my DH, DD (aged 5 months) and me, starting asap. Needs to be worldwide as we have just booked a belated honeymoon to (whisper it) Mauritius.

We have been with insureandgo for years but, frankly, they are looking expensive at about £100 when Moneysupermarket offers deals through Columbus Direct and others for about £40. Plus, we have never had to claim, so I am not sure if they would warrant the loyalty anyway.

But I fear if I go with lowest-price insurer I will end up with a shoddy policy with a company that won't pay out or excludes crucial things. Does anyone have anyone they would recommend?

Frankly I need to do some research, but am learning how hard those kind of tasks are with a DC (My attempts to switch broadband have left us without a service AND £100 down. I used to be good at this stuff - is it just me that has been rendered so useless by motherhood?).

I bought a short trip policy through moneysupermarket, but didn't need to claim on it (thankfully). I had no reason to think it was anything other than above board, I think I was just expecting to have to pay more than I did. You don't have travel insurance through your bank account do you? Only ask as I do (LloydsTSB) but it doesn't cover DS. To include him for one week waoud have cost more than the separate policy I took out for all three of us!

you need to look at the cover and the excess
we have only claimed once but in 2 sections so had to pay the excess twice although it was the same trip
