it's our only 'family' day as i am working for the rest of the week, and want to take them somewhere really good. we are in the west mids but don't mind a bit of a drive. i have a ds who is nearly 5 and dd who is 2.

not West mids safari park or severn valley railway cas we've been a million times, and not drayton manor cos we're taking ds for his birthday in a few weeks.

i thought about space centre in leicester but i gather it is mmore aimed at older kids...

any bright ideas very welcome!! ta

ThinkTank in Birmingham is really excellent - my DS loved it.

we love the botanical gardens in edgbaston- if the weather is nice, we take a picnic, then spend time lazing in the sunshine. there is a playground, discovery garden and aviaries, plus the hothouses etc. More like half a day though.
Nature centre in cannon hill park is good (and much cheaper!)
umberslade childrens farm in Tanworth in arden is fabulous, but was closed to public last summer- check on website.
ASea life centre is always v popular with my dd (3)

Space centre in Leicester will be really hard work and very expensive. It is aimed and mush older children and i have found it hard work with my children when they were younger.

Will have a think. Where are you local to?
