Early morning or evening flights with youngs dcs - which is better IYO?

Choice between flying 06.15 after a very early drive of 3 hours to airport OR flying 17.05 afternoon and arriving 8.40pm.

Pros and cons?

Dcs are 7 and 3

prob on balance the morning as tehy can sleep half the time.

the other thign is that more chance of sorting out any problems in travel arrangements on early flight as you'll arrive in working hours (more tricky if its late and you've got fractious kids if arrive on evening flight).

Ok. was wondering if maybe they'd be so knackered after the journey they'd flake out as soon as we got to the accommodation and ate something...? Not done abroad before with two dcs.

well they'll sleep in and be ok next day if took evening flight but chances are at that age will be quite hyper for the flight etc anyway -and you can be sure will sleep first night etc if you take the morning flight.

and didn't mean to preempt trouble - but I know you can wait ages for stuff like cars and it seeme so much longer at night if you're doing that.
