Has anyone ever booked a last minute holiday??

We are thinking of doing this (maybe with last minute.com) for June as we have very little money. Has anyone ever done this? Do you only end up with aweful places? DO you really save a lot of money? How easy is it to do?

Any advice please!

yes i did last year and it was booked in 12 days time so had passport ready anyway and off we went on the cruise, we looked on teletext (on ITV page 200) and saved half of the money as from the original price (hee hee heee)

Yes I've done this but only for places in the UK on laterooms.com. The rooms are usually really good - you can search them on google any way to make sure!!

I have done it lots, through independent travel co's and Lastminute.com.

Now, I wouldn't do any form of 'allocation on arrival'.
We got a really good deal to a little place on the Costa brava through lastminute.co last year, Kosmar have a good late deal bit on their site, and are cheaper and often niceer than more expensive co's anyway, also try SimplyTravel site for late deals.
