Family afternoon tea with messy vocal 15 month old

Any suggestions for The Works for afternoon tea for my MIL's 70th birthday? Bearing in mind the chaos that is my 15 month DS, who has been known to fling food occasionally...

In central or north-west London... although a stately home 40 minutes out would also be okay...

The Wolseley on Piccadilly has incredibly forgiving acoustics, highchairs, and chilled child friendly staff. Lovely for a special occasion. Maximum table size of 6 though I think.
