I am trying to convince my husband that we need to book my ds a seat of his own on the flight.
Anybody got advice as to whether that's the best thing to do? Plus hints on how to make flight bearable both for ds and ourselves would be appreciated.

Thanks

Obviously it is better, but presumably not essential. We're facing the same flight but won't be able to afford extra seat (is it full price?)

Night flight possible?

2 laptops, fully charged (plus spare batteries?)

In the night garden DVDs.

Flight for ds is coming in at around £400 return.Flight out is during day, back home is overnight but I don't think he'd sleep in our arms unless he was totally exhausted!

If you can afford it I would pay for him to have a seat of his own.

Would fly direct into Orlando (is this where you were thinking of going to in Florida?) if possible. Both BA and Virgin fly direct into that airport.

Would suggest DVD player, some toys to unwrap and bringing his favourite food to eat on the flights. Do not rely fully on airline to provide all the catering needs. Many childrens meals are served not all that long before the adults meals come around.

Yes we are flying direct into Orlando with Virgin.
We did the flight via Chicago when I was pregnant with him and it was a total nightmare so not prepared to do that again in a hurry!
