We are going tomorrow, on the train rather than driving (my friend's mad idea,it will be an adventure for the kids she says ) I am obviously wanting to take as little baggage as possible as my donkey that usually carries all my bags is out of action Don't want to carry bloomin towels & cosies all the way there for them not to be used so am hoping that someone will tell me it won't be on. What a mean Mummy I am

I thought the weather was supposed to turn tomorrow.... sorry!

johnbarrowmanlovesme · 05/04/2009 19:30

Oh no! Our 'adventure' is slowly turning into a nightmare.

As well as hoping to find a parking space at the station in the morning, we have two train changes with 4 minutes to lug four kids, a buggy, enough food to feed an army to find the platform & next train we are meant to be on. What's the betting we either lose someone or get on the wrong train.

Why on earth did I let myself get talked into this, it seemed like a good idea when she mentioned it months ago, not any more though

Legoland is quite a way from the train station, though you can get a bus from near the Castle. You probably know that though!

johnbarrowmanlovesme · 05/04/2009 19:35

My friend (not after tomorrow !) has looked into it & says the shuttle bus goes from outside the station?

Probably , not lived in Windsor for a few years. Maybe phone Legoland in the morning and see if the waterfoutains will be on. (BTW, The Sun had 2 for 1 Legoland Vouchers)

Leaving here at 7.15am so can't phone Legoland before we go unfortunately

pretty sure they're never on in April.

Getting to Legoland by train is to be avoided btw.

We went on Thursday and the fountains were on, and the dcs got fairly wet on some of the other rides too (the viking one, pirate falls and there's another one too). There are lockers near the fountains.

Nontoxic · 06/04/2009 00:08

We went on Wednesday and they were on.

LastOrders · 06/04/2009 00:16

Its to cold for the fountains!!!

I wouldn't bother personally, and just spend more time on the humongously lengthy queues other rides.

Prob not what you want to hear, but honestly, don't bother with all the extra baggage. Sounds like you have enough to lug around as it is

Nontoxic · 06/04/2009 00:20

Should have said, yes the fountains were ok, but we didn't partake - my DCs are older anyway.
And even though it was quite sunny you did feel chilly after getting wet on the water rides.

johnbarrowmanlovesme · 06/04/2009 22:35

Thanks for all your replies, I didn't have time to check this morning (very early start!)

Well we managed to get there & back without losing anyone & didn't miss any of our trains

The fountains were on but we thought it a bit chilly to strip off so didn't bother but did get wet on a couple of the other rides & took ages to dry.

We hired a Q-Bot, daylight robbery but, we did manage to get on a few more rides than we would have done if we hadn't had one.

The train journey wasn't as bad as I thought it would be but won't do it again. Even the kids said they would rather go by car as it's so much less hassle.

All in all a great day, spent too much money & ate too much rubbish but hey ho, it's the holidays
