Yes, beleive it or not...never been.

Was thinking of Puerto P, in the north- DH and I would like to do a mix of sight seeing old buildings, walking in the countryside ( we can manage 5-6 miles a day! ) and generally lazing around, bit of beach. DCs are now grown up so won't prob be coming.
Is this destiantion a good chocie and if so, how do we find out about walking routes etc?

Puerto P was nice when we went about 5 years ago, with facilities but not too over developed, with a few really good restaurants (sorry can't remember any names now) and a marina. It is not far from a wetland birdwatching area near Alcudia. It is handy for the mountains if you like walking too. The walking guide we used was by June Parker, and seemed a bit out of date.

The main frustration in Mallorca is that many of the walks are across private land, and walkers have no automatic right of access. We got halfway around one walk and found the way blocked by a gate manned by a security guard who was turning walkers away. That said though, it was still a good holiday.

Highlights were a visit to the caves of Drach, and an excellent dinner in Pollensa old town (in land from Puerto P). Have fun wherever you end up.
