Car seat for private transfer by taxi

We're going to Greece in summer and have got private transfers from the airport to the hotel in a taxi. The holiday company who are selling us a 'family holiday' said they can't arrange a car seat for our 18 month old in the taxi.
I'm not happy about her spending an hour in a greek taxi on greek roads with no car seat. We've only got to have one little crash for her to be thrown through the window.
Has anyone had this problem before, how did you solve it. Is it best just to take her car seat on the flight with us? Do the airlines include it in your luggage? Or is it possible to hire a car seat when there? Thanks.

Take your own seat. Taxis cannot carry every stage seat or there would be no room for your other luggage in the boot.

I have taken many different seats on many different flights and it has never been counted toward my weight.

Very unlikely you'll get one there - take yours , you check it in as oversized luggage so use bubble wrap to cover it and don't leave straps loose

Hire car companies (Avis etc) do stock car seats - they might hire you one atthe airport - but doubtful without the car. I would take your own too - you know exactly what you are doing with fixing it - it's the right size & weight etc etc. I don't think the airport evr counted ours towards our weight allowance either

You can get a car seat bag from www.kiddicare.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/productdisplayA_0_10751_-1__16149_10001_here. I used to take my car seat everywhere and even now I still take a booster seat.

I've always been grateful to take my own when I've seen the poor quality of car hire car seats.
