We are taking 17wk old ds to Madrid in a few weeks and I was just planning to take buggy plus the baby bjorn, but dh says we must take the car seat as we will be getting a taxi the other end. It seems so bulky to take but perhaps he's right....what do you do?

Also, if we do take the buggy & car seat, do BA let you put them in the hold automatically or do you have to check them in or ask beforehand?

if you're getting a taxi i'd take a car seat if you can.

you have to check them in as luggage, but you;ll be able to take the buggy up to the gate

I would take the car seat. It is safer. When I've traveled with an infant seat with BA they let me take the infant seat on board and I have the Quinny Buzz and I was allowed to take it on board ... although they were very reluctant as it is quite bulky.
