Can anyone recommend a Greek island for a 4 nights hol with our 8 months old DD in April?

This will be the first holiday abroad. Really looking forward to it, after all the hard work, just want to chill out and relex. Anyone know a nice Greek island good for small family with a baby? Thanks a lot.

Are you looking for warmth or are you just looking to relax?

The sea will not be particualry warm yet and pools would need to be heated.

We love Meganissi Hotel, on Meganissi, off Levkas, but in APril you would probably need to pull together yuor own itenrary asI don't think Ionian Island Holidays have started their holidays yet. Probably not what you want to do with a small baby. I also don't think the pool is heated - but it is a wonderfully friendly, family run hotel.

Ionian Island Holidays are great: personal service and lovely places. Having checked the web site, they do start at the end of APril.

If you are going to Meganisi (the hotel or the villas), you get met at Preveza airport, put into a taxi (but take a car seat!), taken to a wee harbour, put into a speed boat, taken acorss to Meganisi, met by the hotel owner and taken up to the hotel. I am sure they would even supply your baby with a wee life jacket (the owner of the speed boat has a young kid of his own and always makes sure that our ds wears a life-jacket)

my Mum and Dad have been with them to Paxos and also found the service brilliant.

We've gone to Meganisi now 4 times. There is nothing to do there except chill out: sit by the pool, wander down into Vathi are around Katomeri, get the ferry acorss to Nidir past Skopelos and back again..... We now just eat in the hotel most nights as the food there is so good (cooked by the owner's mother, with his father on the "grill"): it's a real family owned operation.

I have been to Lefkas for the last two weeks of May and wouldn't go much earlier, its still not that warm yet. Crete might be better (further south) or Cyprus (further away) but if you want guaranteed warmth you need the Canaries or Madeira really.

Would go for Crete in terms of weather.

thanks, mums. Decided to go to Malta instead, my hubby really wants to go there. Maybe Lefkas in June then........ depends on how much money we spend on Malta.....
